Lake Santa Fe is a large spring fed freshwater lake in North Central Florida which feeds the Santa Fe River. It has an abundance of birds, fish, native plants and other wildlife. Visitors and residents are impressed by the beauty of the ecosystems and are motivated to preserve the delicate balance between human use and lake health. Lake Santa Fe is fortunate to have the Santa Fe Lake Dwellers Association dedicated to preserving the quality of the lake and its shoreline. The State of Florida has designated the lake as an Outstanding Florida Water worthy of special protection because of its natural attributes. To learn more about efforts being made to protect this natural jewel visit www.lakesantafe.org.
